Standing to Achieve New Directions
...Changing Lives for the Better
1. NATURE AND USE OF DATA COLLECTED BY WEB SERVER
The web servers that serve the Website, like web servers at many websites, collect the domain names of users who visit the Website, as well as their site navigation information. This information may be aggregated so that the number of visits to the Website, the average time spent on the Website and the pages viewed can be measured and analyzed to improve Website functionality and your experience using the Website.
It is not our practice to link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable; that is, the visitor’s session will be logged, but the visitor remains anonymous to us. However, we reserve the right to use IP addresses to identify a visitor when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our Website policies or to: (a) fulfill a government request; (b) conform with the requirements of applicable law or legal process; (c) protect or defend our legal rights or property, the Website, or other Website users; or (d) in an emergency to protect the health and safety of our Website users or the general public.
We hire third parties to provide technical, upgrade, maintenance, repair and other routine support services for the Website. These third parties may have access to user information collected by the web servers for the Website. Our third-party service providers are subject to agreements and other legal restrictions that prohibit their use of the information they may access or we may provide for any purpose other than the specific service they provide.
2. COLLECTION AND USE OF DATA PROVIDED BY WEBSITE USERS
When you engage in certain activities on the Website, we may ask you to provide personally identifiable information, or “personal information.” This personal information could include that which may be used to identify or contact you, such as your name, mailing address (including zip code), telephone number, age, gender and e-mail address. It is completely optional for you to engage in the activities that request your personal information. For certain activities on the Website, your personal information may be mandatory for participation. You will not be able to engage in such activities if you do not provide the mandatory data.
At various times as you use the Website, you may be given the option of receiving recurring informational/promotional newsletters or information via e-mail from STAND. In order to subscribe to STAND newsletters via e-mail, we need your contact information, such as your name and e-mail address.
We use information that you provide to us in order to deliver the specific services and information that you request and to deliver additional information that we believe may be of interest to you. For instance, we may use your information in the following ways:
• For the purposes for which you specifically provided the information including, for example, to register you for STAND events and programs or other community events and programs.
• To send you e-mail notifications about STAND initiatives, events, programs and services, or to otherwise contact you.
3. DISCLOSURE OF COLLECTED INFORMATION
We may disclose your personal information to third parties in order to comply with applicable laws and law enforcement agencies, to protect our rights in or the safety of the Website or to protect the safety or rights of other users of the Website.
4. LINKS TO THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
As a convenience to our Website users and to recognize certain organizations that provide support to STAND, we may choose various third-party websites to link to, and frame within, the Website. We have no control over these linked sites, each of which has separate privacy and data collection practices and policies independent of us. Data collected by these third-party websites (even if offered on or through the Website) is not received by us. As such, we have no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions, and are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any such websites. We are also not responsible for any advertising on any such third-party websites. These linked sites are only for your convenience and you therefore access them at your own risk.
5. SECURITY MEASURES
We have implemented security measures we consider reasonable and appropriate to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Please be advised, however, that while we strive to protect your personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us through the Internet and are not responsible for the theft, destruction or inadvertent disclosure of your personal information. In the unfortunate event that your “personally identifiable information” (or as the term or similar terms are defined by any applicable law requiring notice upon a security breach) is compromised, we may notify you by e-mail (at our sole and absolute discretion) to the last e-mail address you have provided us in the most expedient time reasonable under the circumstances; provided, however, that delays in notification may occur while we take necessary measures to determine the scope of the breach and restore reasonable integrity to the system as well as for the legitimate needs of law enforcement if notification would impede a criminal investigation. From time to time we evaluate new technology for protecting information, and when appropriate, we may upgrade our information security systems.
